Chateau Saint Michelle Chardonnay Cold Creek

Chateau Saint Michelle Chardonnay Cold Creek -

Wine Press NW rating "Outstanding" and "Wine of the Week". Classic pear and apple flavors, rich viscosity and a buttery mouthfeel. Toasty vanilla notes result from barrel fermentation in new French oak.

Wine Press NW says: "Considered one of Washington's finest vineyards, Cold Creek also is one of the state's oldest, first planted in the early 1970s. While Chateau Ste. Michelle makes a number of wines from this vineyard, it's the Chardonnay that shines annually as one of the best anywhere and appeals to fans of both the fruit-forward and somewhat oaky styles. The 2001 version hits the nose with citrus, huge butterscotch, some wood, lanolin and a touch of figs, followed by flavors of more citrus, especially lemon, good acidity, a rich mouthfeel and a long, fresh finish. Rated "Outstanding" by Wine Press Northwest magazine."
