Review:
2010 Vintage Wine Spectator - 92 points - Deft, polished and expressive, this is layered with cherry, rasp- berry, orange peel and pine flavors that meld seamlessly on the harmonious finish, lingering well. Shows intensity without weight. Drink now through 2020. - H.S.

2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
2009 Wine Advocate - 93 points - From an exposed 15-acre (and recently expanded) sector of the estate that reaches up to 700 feet in elevation and hence ripens relatively late, Cristom’s 2009 Pinot Noir Eileen delivers a marriage of lightly-confitured but juicy, ripe cherry and red raspberry – garlanded in buddleia and lily – with rich, toasty underlying nut oils and savory, marrow-rich meat stock that is strikingly pure and uncannily saliva-inducing. Irritatingly vague though it is, the German wine expression “feinherb” springs to my mind here, because there is an alliance of fine (i.e. pleasurable) bitterness with savor – not to mention an overall refinement of texture and purity of fruit that are both memorable and irresistible. An admirable sense of buoyancy (though in collection-typical fashion, this weighs-in at a bit over 14% in alcohol) and a persistently, dynamically complex finish further certify the excellence of a bottling that will probably pay distinctively delicious dividends for at least the next dozen years. - David Schildknecht
2009 Wine Enthusiast - 92 points - This begins as a hard, tight wine with hints of rose petal around a core of blackberry hard candy. The balance is superb, and the wine is lively with nuanced, dark notes blending smoke, espresso and bitter chocolate. An intriguing animal scent surfaces after some hours of breathing. - Paul Gregutt

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes
Cristom Eileen Vineyard Pinot noir 06 is made entirely from one section of Cristom's own estate vineyard. Less than 600 cases of the wine were made. While the wine was aged in 67% new oak, it is drinking well. A silky texture and mouthfeel surround a core of smooth tannins. It is a richly flavored Pinot noir, true to the varietal at its best.
"Cristom's 2006 Eileen Vineyard Pinot noir is a dark ruby colored wine with rich aromas of ripe blackberries, cinnamon, allspice, cedar and roasted coffee. The equally compelling flavors consist of raspberries, currants and a bit of a wild fruit or a briary component that gives an overall lift to the palate. Although the 2003 vintage was a bit warmer and drier than we typically see, the altitude of this vineyard helped to maintain the bright acidity that keeps this wine balanced. Although there is still some mouth coating tannins, this wine is drinking well now and should improve for 5 to 8 years." ~Steve Doerner
