Review:
2010 Vintage Wine Spectator - 91 points - Firm with tannins around a dark-flavored core of blueberry and black currant, veering toward smoke and autumn leaf notes. The finish presses against the tannins. Best from 2015 through 2020. - H.S.
2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
2009 Wine Enthusiast - 93 points - This is classic Oregon Pinot Noir at its most svelte and stylish. Fresh and clean upon entry, it showcases its raspberry and cherry fruit in a delicate wrap of leaf and bark. The tannins are in perfect proportion; the finish is complex and intriguing. - Paul Gregutt
2009 Wine Advocate - 91 points - From a heterogeneous though largely eastern-exposed sector – the upper reaches of which, near the woods, are shaded by late afternoon, and which represents the first planting by Paul Gerrie and hence the estate’s oldest halfway high-density vines – Cristom’s 2009 Pinot Noir Louise Vineyard evinces an enveloping blue fruit richness underlain by a complimentary suggestion of wet stone. Polished in texture, and with admirably juicy, subtly soothing persistence, for now at least, this lacks the floral perfume, carnal savor, or dynamics that are so winsome a part of this collection’s other Pinots. Perhaps it simply needs time: surely I can’t imagine it fading for at least a decade. - David Schildknecht
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
2008 Tanzer - 94 points
Plush blackberries and black raspberries tinged with cream and coffee in the nose signal that this is a bigger, softer wine that the other 2007's from Cristom. Smooth, richly textured, and brimming with mulberry, blackberry, and currant/licorice flavors, it finishes long and seamless. - Jean
A crowd pleaser, ready to drink with big body and cellaring potential as well.
Steve Doermer is a winemaker's winemaker. Ask the best winemakers from Oregon's first generation of iconic wineries who they drink, and chances are, they'll say Cristom.
Steve releases his wines late, so this 2007 is his current vintage. As with most of his wines, it will cellar beautifully. The most forward Pinot noir he made in 2007, it is drinking beautifully now, in March of 2011.

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes
Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot noir 06 ripens earliest of the winery's single vineyard Pinots. The 2006 shows aromas of black berries, currants, plum, and black raspberry. Ripe black fruit prevails in the flavors, with toast, vanilla, cinnamon, cola and bittersweet chocolate adding complexity. A big Pinot, it is rounded and ready to enjoy. Structure and balanced acidity allow the 2006 Louise to be cellared for 4-6 years.
