The David Hill Vineyard Tawny Port is Solera aged. It has been held in a 500L French oak puncheon its entire life. This very smooth brandy fortified wine is not too sweet for Port, neither too rich, has wonderful blueberry, blackberry, black pepper and vanilla aromas and flavors. After dinner, or in the pure Portuguese tradition, before dinner with blue cheese, walnuts, and fresh quartered Bosc pear, is the best way to enjoy this specialty wine. -the winery

From the winery: "Our 1997 Port was produced from Grapes of the Estate and another vineyard near Sweet Home. During barrel aging, the wine took that orange color characteristic of Tawny Port. This brandy fortified wine is not too sweet for a Port, neither too rich, has wonderful plum, blackberry jam, and nutty flavors that stick to your mouth for a while. After dinner, or in the pure Portuguese tradition, before dinner with blue cheese, walnuts, and fresh quartered Bosc pear, is the best way to enjoy this specialty wine."
