Review:
Broad and voluminous, the Evenstad Reserve 08 is a bigger Pinot, sporting black cherry and plum alongside baking spices and toast. It will continue to benefit from time in the cellar. - Marcus
Wine Enthusiast 2008 - 94 points - Dark, full, generous and ripe to the far edge of elegance, this powerful Pinot is saturated with black fruits, annotated with fennel, pepper, smoke and espresso, the rich and varied flavors rolling right through a lush midpalate and on into a gently fading finish. Retasted over 24-48 hours, it continued to evolve and develop additional nuances. A wine to cellar for a decade or more. - P.G.
2008 Wine Spectator - 93 points - Sleek and tangy, tightly focusing its cherry, raspberry and mineral flavors on a taut frame. Finishes with intensity and a hint of black olive. Drink now through 2018. - H.S.
From the winery: "Beautiful aromas of dark cherry, red raspberry, pipe tobacco, milk chocolate, pomegranate and earth. The palate is rich and supple, showing black raspberry, cherry pie, black currant, rose, violet and oak spice with a persistent and seamless finish."
