of the 2005 Pack...so far
Pack of Washington's Newly Released 2005 Wines,
vintage in Washington is true.
Marcus puts it, the '05 Washington wines
Wylie of Va Piano says
the 2005 vintage is "the
vintage I will be telling stories about
to my great grandchildren!"
Busch of Sleight of Hand says 2005
is "the best vintage Washington
State has seen in many, many years."
Gordon, chairman of the Washington
and owner of Gordon
Brothers Winery says: "While
its still too early to tell, 2005
could very well be the vintage of the
decade for Washington State.”
The 2005 growing
season had the perfect
warm but not overly hot summer
days, and a prolonged Indian summer that allowed
grapes the extra hang time needed to develop
flavors due to smaller berry sizes
and cluster weights also set 2005 apart as

Silky, striking, Syrah. The nose is
lush yet complex, brimming with sumptuous black
fruit shaded by white pepper, meat, and savory
Va Piano Syrah is pure
silk in your mouth, unwinding flavors
of blackberry, black raspberry, black currant,
and black cherry (that’s a lot of dark
fruit!). The sweet fruit gives over
to cola spice, minerals and a savory note,
with just the tiniest bit of tannin present.
continue to be more wowed by Justin’s

the 2005 is
easily the best so far.
"Archimage" Red 05
Trey's most spectacular magic act. It's a super-premium Bordeaux blend made from old vine fruit from Champoux, Klipsun, and Bacchus Vineyards. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot are included in the blend.
Archimage is quite
aromatic, showing big scents of black cherry,
ripe black plum, Idian spices, cedar, and toast.
The texture of the wine in the mouth is very
silky and the tannins gently caress.
expands in the mouth, as flavors of ripe black
fruit, dense hints of dark fruit liqueur, toasted
espresso bean, and spice intermingle. The finish
goes on and on.Drink now with
several hours of decanting, or cellar through
Trey made only 150 cases of this magic
Trust Syrah 05
Complex scents of black cherry, cola, and
sasparilla fill the nose. Intriguing hints
of cassis and spicy flowers are contributed
by the 10% Va
Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend.
The Trust Syrah's
sensuous flavors are heightened by
a rich, viscous mouthfeel. The wine is huge,
with lots of body- black fruit is joined by
floral, spice, and licorice notes. Despite
its bigness, the wine finishes with a very
refreshing sense and lively acidity.
