Flavors and aromas of berry jam, earth, spice and rose. The aromas are distinctly Southern Oregon- cedar, dark fruits, earth and saddle leather. Lush purple Merlot fruit suggests itself first on the palate, followed closely by the depth and structure of dark, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon and an infusion of blueberry and chocolate on the finish from the Cabernet Franc. A subtle smoky spiciness from a judicious use of a percentage of new French oak barrels.

Rich and velvety in the mid-palate, French oak tannins work with fruit tannins and solid acid to create a finely structured, well balanced wine. Approachable in its' youth, this Bordeaulais-style blend is easy to pair with foods spicy, savory and rich. Don't be afraid to put this wine away for 5 to 7 years, your patience will be rewarded with a complex, well developed wine that is graceful and lush."
