Genesis Chardonnay
Genesis Chardonnay - Genesis wines represent the culmination of a winemaking process that selects classic varietal wine grapes from some of the most distinctive vineyard sites in Eastern Washington state. In twenty years of winemaking in Washington the Hogue Cellars winemaking team has identified which vineyards and microclimates have the best potential to produce classic varietal wines.

MORE INFORMATION
From the winery: "Great Chardonnays are always a balance between varietal fruit character developed in the vineyard and the added flavor complexity from oak aging and malolactic fermentation. For our 2000 Genesis Chardonnay we combined specific Chardonnay lots so that the finished blend
expresses the best character of each, tropical fruit, pineapple, peach and vanilla. The oak is well integrated and rich flavors of bright apple and vanilla are soft on the palate. A naturally high acid level in 2000 because of a cool summer allowed this wine to stand up to 71% malolactic fermentation while retaining its crispness and fruit. Ten months of barrel aging developed rich,
complex aromas that complement the intense fruit and malolactic character. This lush wine should pair especially well with robust poultry or pork dishes.
