Fielding Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 06 $39.95
Wine Spectator 93 points and
Wine Spectator Insider "HOT WINE"
"Smooth and silky, offering a plush mouthful of lavender-accented black currant, cherry and espresso flavors that weave together through the long, vibrant finish. Has great stature and a welcoming feel. Drink now through 2016. From Washington." - H.S.

The nose is playful, with red berries, black cherry candy and caramel. Then POW! Fielding Hills Cabs capture the essence of Cabernet, with a dense cassis core accented by sweet black cherry. Great structure and balance. The caressing finish echoes with dried herb, licorice, earth, and generous black fruit.

Owen Roe Dubrul Cabernet Sauvignon 07 $71.95/$64.75
Owen Roe's flagship wine. The Dubrul Cab exhibits an expressive, rich nose of clove, licorice, cedar incense, vanilla, and sweet black fruit. Mouth-coating, velvety, and plush, huge, sweet blackberry, black cherry, and plum flavors are elevated by layers of sweet tobacco, dried fruit, pencil lead, and cassis liqueur. Ripe, integrated tannins are structured for 5+ years of cellaring. One of the best Cabernets from one of th best vintages ever for Washington.

O'Shea Scarborough "The Black Cask" Syrah 07 $31.95
Like Cayuse and Reynvaan? Then you really should try the new Black Cask Syrah 07 from O'Shea Scarborough. Less fruit bomb, more character.

Dense black fruit, grilled herbs, leather, oil-cured olives, candied violets, meat, graphite - tremendous complexity. Even with the hefty black and blue fruit, this Syrah stays vibrant and fresh. An excellent value in a truly unique Washington Syrah. ONLY 94 CASES MADE. Co-fermented with 3% Viognier.

Soos Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Champoux Vineyard 07 $35.95
From the same vineyard that makes Quilceda Creek Cab and Andrew Will Sorella comes this indie-sensational Champoux Cab. Delivering lipsmacking, balanced, age-worthy Cab for $36 isn't easy, but Soos Creek nails it.

To me, the hallmark of Champoux Cabernet is the big, beautiful black cherry core. Soos Creek's Cab adds sweet blueberry and blackberry with vanilla mocha and dried herbs. Supple and totally delicious.

Betz Family Winery "La Serenne" Syrah 07 $59.95
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 93 Points
"The 2007 La Serenne is 95% Yakima Valley Syrah from the Boushey Vineyard with the balance coming from the Kiona Vineyard in Red Mountain. A saturated purple in color, it has a brooding but delectable nose of smoked meat, saucisson, spice box, incense, and blueberry. Dense yet suave on the palate, this ripe, intensely flavored Syrah is impeccably balanced with enough structure to evolve for 4-6 years. It will offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2022.

Betz Family Winery remains one of Washington’s benchmarks for top quality wines from Rhone and Bordeaux grape varieties. Bob Betz’s 2007 collection shows him continuing at the top of his game (with plenty of help from his family)."

Dark, dense and massive. The 07 La Serenne is as good as ANY Washington Syrah I've tasted. Buckets full of black fruit are shaded with ground coffee, vanilla and smoked meat.

La Serenne storms your palate before a sexy, savory-sweet interplay of blackberries, thyme, pepper and minerals lifts the finish. The 07 was still evolving after three days opened. Shockingly good Syrah.

Andrew Will Champoux Vineyard Red 07 $59.95
A truly epic wine. While the blend changed in 07, the luscious nature of the wine did not. Heady aromas immediately ooze from the glass - crushed red and black fruits intertwine with baking spices and you're hooked. A supple wash of red berries, black cherry, sweet blueberry and ribbon of black currant persuades your palate.

With decanting, the bottom notes and finish of the 07 Champoux flourishes and fattens, providing dark chocolate-covered cherry accents that are sensational. The 2007 Champoux is ultra-polished while maintaining the structure that Andrew Will wines are famous for. - Marcus

Robert Parker comments, in Parker's Wine Buyers Guide 5th Edition, that "Andrew Will's wines have virtually perfect tannins. They are present but buffered by the loads of dominating sweet fruit. Furthermore, what is amazing about Chris Camarda's wines is that they are concentrated yet grateful. Camarda's (wines) blend power with elegance, concentration with finesse, and supersweet fruit with definition. Chris Camarda is a brilliant winemaker."
