Helvetia
Winery is owned by John Platt and Elizabeth Furst, who purchased the estate
as a summer retreat in 1980. Helvetia's wines are made with grapes
from their own vineyards, planted in the 1980's, and from grapes purchased
from
area
vineyards.
Helvetia's wines are amazingly popular at our store here in Corvallis,
Oregon. Every time they come to pour at our Saturday tastings, we see
the customers line up to try the wines. John's years of experience have
resulted in a lineup of fruity, delicious wines that go well with food
and have an extra touch of richness that makes them a crowd favorite.
Helvetia makes very small amounts of wine and is
pretty much a local phenomenon. If you'd like to try wine from a winery
Oregonians save for
themselves, here are some welll priced and succulently delicious wines
for you!
Located west of Portland in trendy Hillsboro,
Helvetia's rolling hills and beautiful garden are worth a summer visit.
