Iris Hill Reserve 05 is made from grapes from the Iris Hill Estate vineyard, Chalice Vineyard, located in the South Willamette Valley.
The winery says this is a "Soft, rich, full bodied Pinot Noir with black cherry, plum and earthy notes on the nose. Dark fruit flavors of blueberries, chocolate and tobacco with a long and elegant fruit driven finish."
The wine was made from Pommard, Wadenswil, Dijon 113, and 114 clones, and the vineyard produced about two tons of fruit per acre, a smallish crop and an indicator of the wine's potential intensity.
The Iris Hill Reserve Pinot noir 05 was aged 11 months in medium toast French oak barrels. It is 12.5% alcohol, a well balanced level that indicates excellent vineyard management. |
