Kestrel Platinum White NV 2nd Edition
New white wine blend with a different slinky "Platinum" blonde on each release's bottles. This wine possesses the brilliant spice of the Gew?rztraminer grape and the lingering perfume of the Viognier. In the nose you will find hints of violets, lilacs, orange blossoms, nutmeg and cinnamon. The mouth explodes with sweet citrus such as tangerines, mandarins, and tangelos. The long lingering finish is reminiscent of sweet clover honey.

MORE INFORMATION
This white table wine is a blend of 50% Viognier and 50% Gew?rztraminer from the 2004 vintage. The Viognier for the Platinum was grown and harvested from the Kestrel View Estate Vineyard, and the Gew?rztraminer from Smasne Farms. Kestrel View Estate Vineyard is located high on the Roza, north of Prosser. Smasne Farms is located north of Grandview on the Roza. The grapes were harvested late in the season, only after they had reached full maturity. Final sugar of both varieties neared 25 Brix. The Viognier and Gew?rztraminer were both hand harvested and whole cluster pressed. The juice of both varieties was blended together and fermented with Cote de Blanc yeast. A cool slow fermentation along with the yeast type helped to preserve the fine fruit and floral qualities of both varieties. The fermentation was stopped at 1.9% residual sugar. The resulting wine is a marriage of spice and floral elements.
