From the winery: "Our trademark "black-hole" purple color is present. Rich aromas of ripe plums, blackberries, and black sweet cherries greet your senses immediately. The spice and perfume proffered by the oak barrels complete this wine's flavor and aroma presentation. The body is medium plus and the finish is long and quite satisfying. This wine possesses a good 3 - 6 years of cellar potential."

From the winery: "100% estate grown "Kestrel View" fruit was utilized to craft this wine. As usual, the grapes were handpicked and sorted prior to crushing. We purposely maintain notoriously low yields in order to achieve complete fruit ripeness and maximum flavor concentration at harvest. On average, we pick about 2.25 to 2.5 tons of grapes per acre (about 40% - 50% less than the Washington State average)."
