Kestrel Merlot 05
winery: Kestrel
From the winery: "Very dark purple-red color. The bouquet is of jammy blackberries, decadent ripe black sweet cherries, vanilla, barrel toast, graham. The flavors mirror that of the bouquet with additional notes of sweet tobacco leaf and light cedar. The tannins are ripe and fine grained."

MORE INFORMATION
From the winery: "The three grape varieties used to craft this wine were all hand picked and sorted. They hail from the Yakima Valley and arrived for fermentation between September 29th and October 19th. Each vineyard's grapes were in superb condition. Once the yeast fermentation was completed, each lot was pressed, settled for two days and racked to French, Hungarian and American oak barrels. The malo-lactic fermentation was completed during the twenty months of barrel aging. This wine was bottled without filtration."
"This fine Merlot hails predominantly from our Yakima Valley appellation Kestrel View estate vineyard. Other contributors included: Du Brul, Lewis, Klingele, Boushey, Rivers Bend, Artz and Elerding."
