Kiona Merlot

Wine Press NW says: "Luscious cherries-in-cream flavors. This is a rich wine with good tannin structure followed up with chocolate, cedar and black fruit. Long, delicious finish."

From the winery: "Kiona's original intent for its 1975 one acre planting of Merlot was as a blending agent for Cabernet Sauvignon. As we gained experience with the wine and the vineyard matured, we became quite excited by the potential of Kiona Merlot as a varietal bottling and expanded the planting to 8 acres. Kiona's Merlot is grown on Red Mountain, a location known for its rich complex reds."

What others say:

WINE PRESS NORTHWEST 2002 "Outstanding."

WPNW Review: Last vintage of this wine was platinum quality, followed by this one which is as good or better. Luscious cherries-in-cream flavors. This is a rich wine with good tannin structure followed up with chocolate, cedar and black fruit. Long, delicious finish.

Won gold at the Taster's Guild International Wine Judging.
