McKinlay Pinot noir Ladd Hill 06 is made from the choicest block of Matt Kinne's tiny 12 acre vineyard. Matt is one of Oregon's hidden treasures- a winemaker producing beautiful Pinot noirs, year after year, at reasonable prices and always delicious.
Friends and family talk about Matt's "Power of the Beard" - Matt certainly uses the power of his beard to make this Burgundian-styled Pinot. Showing the best qualities of the 2006 vineyard, it has lovely fresh fruit scents and juicy berry and cherry flavors. Layers of spice, minerals, and a hint of summer herbs add complexity. Tannins are perfectly integrated - a cellar selection, drink 2010 through 2018. Highly recommended by Avalon.
