Very limited, made from old vine fruit - it's a HUGE black fruit bomb with tremendously satisfying, rich, dense, spice, cherry, plum, black berries and toasty smoke flavors.
last vintage there were no grapes so this is the first Zinfandel from Owen Roe in two years. The previous vintage (2000) received 91 points from Wine Spectator. "This monster Zin at 16.8% alcohol is one of our most distinct wines of the vintage. It is at once huge with incredible fruit flavors yet it has absolutely delightful fragrance and textures. Lonnie Wright provided us with all of the Zinfandel from Harold Haake's Hillside Vineyard in The Dalles. We also added a touch of Syrah from Lewis Vineyard also in The Dalles, which is also meticulously farmed by Lonnie. This is the only Zinfandel bottled by Owen Roe in 3 years and this vintage is simply labeled as Columbia Valley Zinfandel." - David O'Reilly
