Detailed Info, Previous Vintage Notes, Reviews:

From the winery: "Folks this is about the wine. And what a wine it is. This is the oldest vineyard that we work with, planted in 1974, and one of the oldest in Yamhill County. Located at the top of a well-defined bowl on the west side of Worden Hill Rd. north of Dundee this vineyard is a very warm site and in 2003 it was the first stuff we picked. This is true blue Dundee Hills Pinot Noir. The wine is loaded with sweet red cherries, red, earthy spices and iron-like nuances to the long, seamless finish. The fruit is balanced with a supple texture that is buoyed by ultra-fine tannins. Perhaps one of the more forward of the wines from 2003 due to the site.

While the fruit is as big and expressive as any vineyard we harvested in 2003 the wine is contained enough that is not go to the dark side and become a formless fruit-bomb. If you like ‘em big, jazzy and pumped full of fruit goodness than you should check this out. 190 cases bottled."

2002 vintage notes: If you want a hedonistic in your face gushing fruit flavors boisterous kinda Pinot noir, the Patricia Green Cellars Pinot noir Goldschmidt Vineyard 02 is the wine for you. So forward it almost jumps out of the glass at you, this wine is a raucous delight. Big toasty cocoa bean nose is followed by huge red cherry and black cherry flavors, shot through with buttery hints of oak and plum.

New vineyard for Patty and Jim, it is owned by the former Governor of Oregon, Neil Goldschmidt and has already produced grapes used in top rated wines.
