Detailed Info, Previous Vintage Notes, Reviews:
From the winery: "This bottling comes from a selected block in our Estate Vineyard that is steep, warm and formerly Sauvignon Blanc (maybe that's why it is so good). As noted in a couple of the other sections regarding the Estate Vineyard we felt that 2003 offered us the greatest ability to show the individual characteristics of this large vineyard site. While Bonshaw has always been designated it stands out this year as more sophisticated than the Estate, more intense than the Old Vine and more luxurious and hedonistic than the Etzel Block. We think that the combination of the factors in the part of the vineyard that it comes from makes the fruit ripen early and develop the incredible velvet texture and Japanese plum fruit that are the signature characteristics of this wine. The texture of this year's version is almost not to be believed. The dense, sweet fruit is absolutely carried on sheets of crushed velvet all the way through to a spicy and extremely long finish. The 2003 wines from the Estate all highlight the incredible transformation that this vineyard has gone under in the past 4 years. This is sexy, rich, exuberant Oregon Pinot Noir at its best! 94 cases bottled."
