Review:

Wine Enthusiast 2009 - 93 pts and Cellar Selection - A rich mix of red, blue and black fruit opens into a sappy, spicy midpalate. The lush fruits are highlighted by a wash of milk chocolate. At first tightly wound, the wine seems to show more oak flavors with air, hinting at licorice and Bourbon barrel. - W.E.

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes

2008 Wine Advocate - 93 points - A glass-coating opaque purple color, it gives up an enticing nose of balsam wood, Asian spices, incense, leather, violets, and assorted black fruits. In the glass it opens to reveal an opulent, layered Cabernet that exhibits both power and elegance. This lengthy, already complex wine will continue to blossom for several more years and drink well through 2023. - Jay Miller

Layered and complex, our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates a genuine sense of place and exquisite balance. First, scents of plums, black cherries, flowers and gravel emerge. Then, aromas of melting dark chocolate, toast, coffee bean and earth start to show. Soft, polished tannins cradle an amazing core of ripe dark fruits and subtle minerality. The supple mouthfeel leads seamlessly to a long, elegant finish. - the winery

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

Appealing aromas of dark chocolate and purple violets as well as fully developed, dense flavors of dark fruit. Ripe, blackberry, black cherry and black beauty plums layer with cassis, beautifully balanced earthy notes and a hint of saddle leather. Polished tannins and a subtle, lingering finish create a stunning rendition of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon. - the winery

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, smooth and concentrated, with layers of black cherry, dark fruit, and mocha with spicy tones of mineral and earth. The finish is amazingly long and detailed, with supple and seamless tannins. This wine is a true mix of very ripe fruit, elegance and finesse. The wine aged 21 months in 55% new French oak barrels.

87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot

2005 Vintage Tasting Notes

Wonderfully balanced, cellar-worthy Cab from some of Walla Walla's best fruit.

Previous vintage notes, from the winery: Our 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon offers intense aromas of dark berry and chocolate with the right hint of mineral and a spicy, smoky, cedar character. This full-bodied wine has a smooth and silky mouthfeel, saturated with bright flavors of dried cherries, boysenberries and black plums. A touch of thyme and cassis adds to the complexity. The wonderful texture lingers gracefully and begs you to take another sip.

Wine Press NW says: "This rising star in the Walla Walla Valley, Pepper Bridge's Cab offers aromas and flavors of strawberry, cedar and spiciness with elegant fruit, earthiness and white pepper. Wonderfully structured."
