Wine Press NW says: "Unassuming Chuck Reininger is anything but quiet when it comes to making great wines. Lovely berry and oak notes meld with complex layers of flavors, beautiful structure and well-managed tannins. "This really sang in my mouth," one judge commented." Avalon Northwest Big Reds Club SelectionWine Spectator says: "Chuck Reininger uses 9 percent Cabernet Franc and 7 percent Merlot to flesh out this elegant Cabernet. It's ripe, round and generous with its cedary blackberry and currant character, sliding in a smoky note or two. Tannins are subdued, and the flavors linger. Drink now through 2010.-H.S."
A very good buy- reminiscent of Leonetti or Quilceda Cabs but with a twist all Chuck's own- this winemaker has the knack to make stellar Cabs from Walla Walla fruit. A winery to watch.Wine Press NW had this to say about the 2000 vintage: "Owner/winemaker Chuck Reininger crafts high-quality red wines at his humble Walla Walla Airport facility. This stylish Cab opens with black raspberry and vanilla aromas with underlying oak notes. Its charming flavors of dark cherries, red currants and anise are backed up with beautiful structure that give way to a complex and lengthy finish. Pair with beef or lamb. Won gold at the Dallas Morning News International Wine Competition and an "Outstanding" rating in Wine Press Northwest's Fab Cab judging."
