DARK fruit, Blackberry, cinnamon (I think it is a mix of the zing from the tannins and probably cedar from the oak), tar, leather, black cherry, and unmistakable pommegranite. Also, a fair bit of tannins, but they aren't coarse, just zingy, yet, for the tannins this is reasonably silky already. With that zing I think this is the most age-worthy of any Sineann old vine zin I've had (since 2000 vintage), yet it is almost ready now (and a fatty piece of meat would balance it out). Wonderful wine, just barely young, yet really strong offering. |
