From the winery: "The aroma is of pine, gamey characters and black cherry. Smoky Syrah notes dominate the palate, with ripe red fruits, orange peel, pepper and vanilla accents. There's great balance, with brightness and youth setting the stage for beautiful evolution in the bottle."

"Truly a Valley-wide blend, with grapes from several different microclimates. Seven Hills, Morrison, Dwelley, and Double River Ranch vineyards all went into this very warm 2003 vintage. As with all our wines, the grapes were hand-picked; harvest weather was dry and hot."
