Sineann Cabernet Sauvignon Baby Poux 08

Available Sept 2011. Made from a block of fruit in Champoux Vineyards, Peter named it "Baby (Champ)Poux 14 years ago. The vines aren't babies anymore, but the name remains.

Hearty, very big, decadent.

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

Nice interplay of cassis and sweet dark cherries, with bitter coca on the powerful finish.

Sineann Cabernet Sauvignon Baby Poux ain't really a baby anymore. When Peter Rosback named this Cab back in 1998, it was made from a new section of famed Champoux Vineyard. Seven vintages later, the baby's all grown up.

"The Baby Poux block of Paul Champoux's vineyard combines great Cab intensity with a remarkable approachability that Cabernet just doesn't often deliver. We've gotten fruit off Baby Poux since it's first year of production and it has always had that approachable quality. Much to our delight, as the vineyard ages (it is now 16 years old) it is growing in depth and complexity. Where will it all lead to? We don't know, but it's fun going along for the ride!" -the winery

2005 Vintage tasting Notes

2005 Vintage tasting Notes: Intense aromas of creamy black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, and a hint of dried herbs. Superdense in the mouth, with flavors echoing aromas and cassis and mineral notes coming out with time. This wine needs some time to tame the tannic structure--this monster Cab is no Baby. Delicious Champoux fruit!

Baby Poux ain't really a baby anymore. When Peter Rosback named this Cab back in 1998, it was made from a new section of famed Champoux Vineyard. The young vines produced fruit that did not meet the standards of the main Champoux Vineyard Cabernet grapes. Seven vintages later, the baby's all grown up.

TASTING NOTES 2004 VINTAGE

Highly recommended- Great structure, good blackberry Bordeauxlike Cassis, cedar, good weight, silky tannins. Cabernet from the Baby poux Vineyard has the usual gushing, over the top flavors that characterize the wines of Sineann.
