"Spring Valley has been making super elegant wines with remarkably focused flavors from a vineyard northeast of town (Walla Walla) that was once a rolling wheat field. Winemaker Devin Derby, who died in an automobile accident in 2004, demonstrated with Uriah what Merlot and Cabernet Franc could do in Washington. The wine has never rated less than 91 points."
