Behind this understated label lies a gorgeous Pinot with a great story. Winemaker Steve Goff was the assistant at Beaux Freres for many vintages; now he makes wine for Colene Clemens, one of the hottest new Oregon wineries. In 2010, Steve gained access to Shea Vineyard's East Hill - you won't find it on the label, but that's the fruit source for this beauty, all 135 cases of it!

Opening with pretty red fruit perfume laced with licorice and dried rose, it dips an elegant toe in the water before diving in head first. Sappy raspberry and bright cherry flavors have surprising persistence and sweetness, complemented by a spice and dried herb note. This Pinot seems to put on weight as you're drinking it and the finish develops back end power.
