The Teritorial Stone's Throw Pinot just plain rocks. An outstanding value it's big in style, but still classically Pinot. The Stone's Throw is immediately inviting with a nose of strawberries and cream and toasty caramel. It's loaded with fruit-red and black raspberry, dark dried cherries and even some wild strawberry-with a velvety mouthfeel and nearly perfect balance. The light pepper and cinnamon on the finish completes a wine that deserves space in your cellar.

What a lovely wine! The scent of soft toast, black cherries, and cinnamon is followed by flavors of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, and cassis, with hints of violets and white pepper. The finish is long, smooth, and balanced. The wine was aged longer than most 03s, and benefits from the time, with integrated, seamless layers of flavors. Not a hint of the heat that shows up in some Oregon 2004 Pinots. At this price, one of Oregon's better deals in Pinot noir.

This Luxurious and grapey Pinot opens with soaring aromas of black cherry spice and toast. A full mid-palate bursting with chewy flavors of dark cherry, blackberry and plum is delightfully braced with a balance of bright acids and gripping tannins not often encountered in any wine. Great aging potential. - the winery

Kudos for the 2002 vintage of Stones Throw:

This showy, exuberant Pinot is highly recommended by the folks at Northwest Palate magazine. In the September, 2004 issue they write: "Aromas of ripe berry/cherry fruit and barrel toast. Focused and ripe flavors of spiced red fruits. Well balanced and elegant, with spiced fruit and light toast in the persistent finish."

From Wine Press Northwest, Winter 2004-05: "This rising Oregon star delivers an approachable Pinot that opens with a bouquet of raspberry, cherry wood and muted oak. Boysenberry dominates the smooth flavor profile that shows off good tannins to provide the wine with some longevity and a finish of freshly scraped vanilla bean."
