Thomas Pinot noir |
![]() John Thomas makes some of the least known and most sought after Oregon Pinot noir - a scant 300 or so cases every few years. In many years, he deems the fruit from his estate vineyard (his only source of fruit for his Pinot) not good enough and skips the vintage. JT's Pinot is known for its ageability, its elegance, its balance, and his very particular style. He has something original to say, and he says it eloquently. His 4 acre dry-farmed vineyard (he is a founding member of Oregon's Deep Roots Coalition) adds a unique quality to his wine. It is meticulously managed by JT. In the last three years he has replaced a significant portion of the vineyard that was effected by phyloxera. As those vines mature, we may see a small increase in the number of cases of wine he makes. Read a John Thomas's Pinot noir
