Outstanding-Wine Press Northwest, Spring 2006 "Here's another head-turner from Holly Turner, whose 2002 expression of Paul Champoux's fruit produced the only Double Platinum Cab in our 2005 Platinum Judging. The nose is fruit-forward with black cherry, raspberry and cassis, but there's androit expression of the barrels with vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Its entry is pretty smooth with rich black fruit, particularly juicy blackberries, that play out through the finish. Chocolaty tannins, cedar and cloves mingle in the background. The fruit is a bit tightly wound at the moment, so the future is even more promising."

Detailed Info, Previous Vintage Notes, Reviews:

From the winery: "The 2003 Champoux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is an intensely concentrated wine that shows beautiful varietal character. With a core of black cherry and cassis this Cab will not disappoint. Richly concentrated with bold tannins, this wine is cellar worthy."

The wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from one of Washington State's best vineyards, Champoux Vineyard. Too bad the winery raised the price $10 a bottle since the 2002 vintage.Champoux Vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in the Columbia Valley with the first vines planted in 1972 by Don Mercer. Paul & Judy Champoux are the current majority owners of the vineyard with more than twenty years of wine grape growing experience. Many of the Northwest's premier wineries source grapes from Champoux Vineyard.
