From its inception in 1984, this small, handsome Washington State winery outside Walla Walla has worked to make its reds fleshy and accessible without sacrificing depth. Owner and winemaker Eric Rindal seized a perfect opportunity with the very ripe 1998 vintage, turning out a lush, fruity, seductive merlot that's quite generous but still perfectly balanced.
