Review:

This youthful wine features a striking ruby garnet color. Complex aromas of blackberry and red plum follow lively notes of black pepper, clove and forest floor. Red cherries and currants dominate the fruit components in the mouth while flavors of pepper and tobacco also emerge in harmony with the aromas. 2009 Vintage Tasting Notes

Aromas include sweet black fruit and carnations. This deep cranberry red wine reveals flavors of red cherry, red currant, red plum with notes of earth, nutmeg, star anise and kirsch. This wine will age well for 7 to 10 years.

Our 2008 Pierre Léon offers the promise of a long cellar life and a constantly evolving depth of character. It presents aromas of dried cherries, dried rose petals, and sandalwood giving way to juicy black fruits, violets, and eau de vie as it opens. The entry is rich, round, and structured moving seamlessly into a mid-palate full of black raspberries and cassis coupled with dark, musky, and woody tones to produce a long and memorable finish.
