Wine Advocate's Highest Rated 09 Pinot
and the only 96 Point Score
Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir White Rose Vineyard Whole Cluster was made from the Vineyard's Block 1 (planted in 1980) using 100% whole clusters. It was aged for 15 months in 100% neutral French oak. It offers up a sexy, bordering on kinky, perfume of exotic spices, incense, floral notes, and assorted red fruits that jump from the glass. On the palate it deftly marries power and elegance in a complex wine that lasts for over 60-seconds in its pure finish. It is one of the wine's of the vintage. Old vines, low yields (in the range of 1.5 to 1.75 tons per acre), and a willingness to stretch the envelope have made White Rose Estate one of the premier producers of American Pinot Noir."

Arterberry Maresh
Maresh Vineyard Pinot noir 2009
$49.45 in any 12 bottle order
$54.95 retail
An Avalon Reserve Pinot noir Club Selection
Wine Advocate: "The youthful Jim Maresh calls (2009), 'a winemaker's vintage' and said his goals were 'to achieve succulence and seamlessness.' With the advantage of old vines and low yields, Maresh was able to succeed. The wine offers up a captivating nose of exotic spices, incense, rose petal, black cherry, and black raspberry. Dense and sweetly-fruited, it displays a velvety texture, unusual depth and concentration for the vintage as well as a sense of elegance. This beautifully proportioned effort will evolve for 1-2 years and drink well through 2021+. It is one of the stars of the vintage."

Brittan Vineyards Basalt Block Pinot noir 2009

Wine Advocate: "Intense spice notes (especially allspice), violets, black cherry, and black raspberry aromas inform the nose of an impeccably balanced, elegant, firm, lengthy Pinot with a vibrant acid backbone. The tension in this wine makes it atypical (but superior) to the easy-going personalities of the vast majority of 2009 Pinots."

Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Winderlea Legacy Pinot Noir, a cuvee of old vines that spent 10 months in 33% new French oak, deftly combines elegance with power along with the most complexity of the estate wines. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it through 2021 if not longer. These three wines nicely display the quality of the Winderlea terroir."

Eyrie Pinot noir Reserve 2009
$53.95 in any 12 bottle order
$59.95 retail
Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Reserve is a bit more concentrated and complex. Despite its light color, it reveals considerable depth and concentration for the vintage, incipient complexity, and an elegant personality. It is likely to evolve for 2-3 years and given Eyrie's track record, should drink well for a decade. It is one of the stars of the vintage."

Summum Chardonnay 2009
$104.36 in any 12 bottle order
$115.95 retail
Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Summum Seven Springs Vineyard received the same elevage as its siblings but was chosen from a tenderloin parcel of the vineyard. It offers up a complex perfume of minerals, smoke, floral notes, white peach, and spiced apple. This sets the stage for a remarkably rich, concentrated, and lengthy Chardonnay, one of the finest I have tasted from Oregon."
