An awesome Friday night

7After a long week, I’m not always in the mood for more wine. But last night I had a box of new rosés and whites and a slab of fresh Oregon salmon…it made for such an awesome Friday night that I had to write about the wines today.

Here’s are the half-dozen new rosés I was sipping on and two of the coolest Oregon whites, one of which is seriously in contention for the coolest (read: best) white wine made in America. Seriously.

Rosés
Haden Fig Pinot gris Rosé 2013
$17.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($19.95 regular)
My favorite rosé of the 2013 vintage. Yes, Pinot gris! A little bit of contact with the grape skins gives this a brilliant orange-pink hue. I couldn’t put down the bottle last night. An ideal combo of complex and refreshing, with a finish that lasts remarkably long. Very (very) limited.

Colene Clemens Pinot noir Rosé 2013
$17.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($19.95 regular)
Colene Clemens captures the ethereal “prettiness” of Pinot noir rosé. Delicate and fresh in the best of ways, with mouthwatering peaches and strawberries. Consistently among the finest Oregon pink wines.

Eyrie Pinot noir Rosé 2013
$17.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($19.95 regular)
The first ever Eyrie rosé mirrors everything that comes from Eyrie: classy fruit, beautiful balance, a lovely lunch or dinner companion.

Matello Pinot noir Rosé 2013
$16.15 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($17.95 regular)
Dry, crisp and full of life, it’s like the ghostly spirits of Matello Pinot noirs. No 2012 was made and the miniscule 120 case production will disappear quickly.

Grochau Cellar Pinot noir Rosé 2013
$15.25 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($16.95 regular)
Strawberry, rhubarb and citrus gets a creamy note from aging in neutral oak barrels. This one goes down the gullet with ease.

Evesham Wood Tempranillo Rosé 2013
$13.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($14.95 regular)
Spiced berries and apple notes make up this Willamette Valley-grown Tempranillo rosé from Illahe Vineyard.

Whites
Eyrie Original Vines Pinot gris 2012
$32.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($35.95 regular)
From the first Pinot gris vines planted in the United States. One of a kind, the best American Pinot gris, simply exquisite. Incredible complexity and age-worthiness. Sadly, extremely limited.

Evesham Wood Blanc du Puits Sec 2013
$15.25 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($16.95 regular)
Fragrant and floral, this is perfume for wine lovers. 85% Pinot gris and 15% Gewurztraminer adds a spicy lift to this rich and refreshing, certified organically grown estate white wine.

We look forward to helping you with an order.
Thanks for all of your support!
