Big Things In Oregon: 2012 Vintage

Oregon’s 2012 vintage wines: It’s what we’ve all been waiting for, from some of our favorite wineries. Today we have five new releases from Walter Scott, Haden Fig, and Terrapin. Big things are afoot in the Willamette Valley.

Walter Scott La Combe Verte Pinot noir 2012
$19.75 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($21.95)
An enchanting, wild vibrancy of dark cherries courses through this Pinot. As it builds toward the finish, fresh blackberries and higher toned Eola-Amity spices add accents. Quite the preview at what is to come from Walter Scott’s 2012s – drink this while you wait for their reserve bottlings!

Walter Scott Chardonnay 2012Walter Scott Chardonnay Willamette Valley 2012
$19.75 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($21.95)
This might as well have “Drink me” on the label. Honeysuckle and citrus waft from the glass leading to a generous body of white peach and a polished, mineral finish.

Haden Fig Chardonnay 2012
$14.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($15.95)
A steal of a Chardonnay. Lemony richness mingles with a hint of peach. Half Mahonia, half Cancilla Vineyard. Half neutral barrel, half stainless steel. Four halves make a whole lot of Chardonnay for the price.
Haden Fig Pinot Blanc 2012
Haden Fig Pinot Blanc 2012
$16.15 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($17.95)
Erin’s Pinot blanc is an outstanding fall and winter white – it is rich as all get out while keeping its brightness and minerality fully intact. Just 2 barrels produced (only 50 cases total!).

 Terrapin Cellars Pinot noir 2012
$14.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($15.95)
This great little insider Pinot hits hard in strong vintages. The 2012 delivers red licorice-laced juicy red fruits with a fun-loving boisterous side. Perfect party Pinot.
