Wine Advocate: The 2009 Block 1 is thicker, richer, more velvety, and more pleasure-bent than the 2008. It is a candidate for perfection once it goes into bottle. The intense Scott Greer is one of Washington’s rising stars. His wines are all sourced from estate vineyards which are just now starting to come into maturity. He keeps yields low and the farming and winemaking are impeccable. Greer notes that he harvests totally on taste…There is really no mystery as to what Scott Greer is doing at Sheridan; total attention to detail, a great vineyard, impeccable farming, and non-interventionist winemaking.

Crossfork Creek is Sheridan Vineyard’s latest label and was founded to make wines from small amounts of Sheridan fruit using different winemaking methods that are rich, balanced, and excellent. Very limited, one of a kind Syrah.

The color is a rich and vibrant purple. The nose opens with rich dark fruits of blackberries, plums, and cassis. At first taste, you are struck by the rich texture that is accompanied by lush black fruits, spice, and anise, leading into a long finish that showcases the elegance yet power of a great Cabernet. This wine will age beautifully for 15+ years. – Scott Greer

Mystique 2010

$24.25 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case” ($26.95 retail)
40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This well-built blue and black fruited beauty has highlights of mint and green tea on the nose. While certainly a “big” blend there’s a spring in it’s step on the finish of fresh ground coffee and sarsaparilla.  Drink it up. – Andy

Smoky and creamy up front followed by perfectly balanced dark cherry fruit.  Notes of mocha and gingerbread relay a pleasant structure on the finish. A great value Cab that drinks like an old pro. – Andy

Dark color, big smoky black cherry, plum, incense, ready to drink. Great value and only the second time that Scott has offered an under $30 Cabernet Sauvignon.
