This is why we sell wine

We love selling wine and we feel lucky to come to work everyday and talk wine. Even so, there are particular wines that just light us up, that make us want to stand on a rooftop and yell about how good Oregon Pinot can be.

We’re warming up our voices and preparing to yell: the new Haden Fig and Evesham Wood Pinots remind us of why we do what we do, and of how fun selling wine is. We’re just kids in a candy store!

haden-fig-bjornsen-275p-2012Haden Fig Bjornson Vineyard Pinot noir 2012
$26.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($29.95 regular)
Beautifully round, bold and dark, all within the context of graceful Pinot noir. Blackberry, black cherry, violet, vibrantly intense and lush. The finish is like biting into a mouthful of summer blackberries with shavings of dark cocoa. I’m not allowed to write what I wrote in my tasting notebook…feel free to ask. The most universally appealing Pinot noir that Erin Nuccio has made. Great right now, awesome in a year or two, even better after. Only 125 cases were made. – Marcus

evesham-eola-amity-275p-2012Evesham Wood Eola-Amity Cuvee Pinot noir 2012
$23.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($25.95 regular)
This step up from Evesham’s Willamette Valley bottling is dark fruited and boisterous, bursting with bowlfuls of blackberries with red fruit accents. Creamy textured at first, giving way to a flavorful chewiness towards the finish. Super fun to drink now but even better when it’s been open for a day. – Marcus

Haden Fig Cancilla Vineyard Pinot noir 2012
$26.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($29.95 regular)
Strawberries and rosemary mingle on the nose, leading to a fleshy and spicy dark raspberry and cherry fruit profile.  With air, cinnamon courses together with the red fruits and cream nuances. This Pinot carries balanced acidity allowing it a point of elegance in the more lush 2012 vintage. This will be in its prime with 2-4 years in the cellar. Only 150 cases were made. – Andy

Evesham Wood Cuvee J Pinot noir 2011
$39.55 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($43.95 regular)
I just tried this again (Monday, 4/14) and it’s stunning, beginning to emerge and express the potential of its regal, elegant, self. Fans of classic Pinot noir take note – this is not to be missed. I said it last year and I’ll say it again: Cuvee J belongs among an elite list of Oregon Pinots – it deserves near cult status. A scant 150 cases were made. – Marcus

We look forward to helping you with an order.
Thanks for all of your support!

- Marcus & Andy
