Arterberry Maresh

Maresh Vineyard Pinot noir 2010

Arterberry Maresh's Jim Maresh$52.15 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case* ($57.95 retail)
…the 2010 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard takes us into a realm of high-toned red berry; mysterious underbrush; noble fungus; meat stock; and overall elegance fondly reminiscent of great Volnay. Piquant fruit pit and mouthwatering salinity lend a goosebump-inducing degree of invigoration to this satiny, sleek, ravishingly long Pinot that kept revealing new nuances and deeper, multi-faceted sweetness as it took on air. I suspect this will have a 12-15 year run and become a yet more profoundly satisfying along the course. – Wine Advocate

Basalt Block Pinot noir 2009

$40.45  in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case* ($44.95 retail)
…displaying scents of ocean breeze replete with iodine and kelp wreathed in bittersweet floral perfume and allied to lusciously ripe yet tartly-fresh purple plum, cherry, and blackberry, which are highly piquantly-tinged with their pits and seeds. Despite harboring around 14% alcohol, this displays a remarkable sense of levity to accompany its vibrant, downright vibratory intensity. It’s hard for me to imagine it remaining riveting for any less than another dozen years. – Wine Advocate

Ayoub Dundee Hills Estate Pinot noir 2010

$49.45  in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($54.95 retail)
… I would expect it to fascinate for at least the better part of a decade, even as it’s already hard to put down the glass and move on. (And in fact, I returned to this and a couple of other Ayoub 2010s after some hours and they continued to acquit themselves superbly.) – Wine Advocate

Winderlea Vineyard Pinot noir 2010

$44.95 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($49.95 retail)
…Here is pure-fruited, marrowy, and ethereally distilled sweetness. As Maresh points out, this exhibits the “high-toned, rhubarb, strawberry, and raspberry that I love from Dundee Hills.” Seamless, silken, and seductively persistent, I had great difficulty resisting the urge to swallow while working, and found it downright impossible to keep from returning to the glass. I imagine that this will remain delectable for at least a decade. – Wine Advocate

Bergstrom

De Lancellotti Vineyard Pinot noir 2010

$53.95 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($59.95 retail)
…ripe, juicy blackberry mingled with resin, cinnamon, dark chocolate, vanilla, and clove, and underlain by beet root and a subtly present sense of forest floor. A vivid, tart berry edge and salted meat suggestions serve for invigoration and saliva inducement in a long finish. The alliance of sweet richness with levity and bright ping of acidity reflects the unusual proclivity of this site, where Bergstrom says “you can let the fruit hang as long as you want, and still come up with Burgundian pH numbers.”…- Wine Advocate

Soter Vineyards

Mineral Springs Ranch Pinot noir 2010

$44.95 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($49.95 retail)
Rose petal and geranium fascinatingly mingle with scents of cherry and almond in the nose of Soter’s 2010 Pinot Noir Mineral Springs Ranch; then inform a silken-textured, infectiously-juicy palate, rich in ripe cherry and piquant nut oils yet buoyant and positively billowing in its expression of inner-mouth florality, leading to a long, mouthwateringly savory, disarmingly persistent and next sip-inducing finish in which floral and spice accents alluringly keep pace with the generous flow of fruit. Look for at least a dozen years of delight from this polished beauty, which will almost certainly gain in complex allure and fascination. – Wine Advocate

Brittan Vineyards Syrah 2009

$35.05  in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case* ($38.95 retail)
Alluring scents of fresh blackberry wreathed in violets could easily have come from a Brittan Pinot, but here there is an intimation of salinity that runs toward fresh, clean sweat, anticipating a savory carnal aspect that comes out on a palate incongruously even more satiny in texture and little less buoyant than that of its Pinot siblings. Fresh sirloin juices seasoned with black pepper proclaim “I am Syrah,” as they join the seamless stream of ripe, tart-edged, tiny black fruit concentrates in an invigoratingly long finish.  – Wine Advocate

Gregory Ranch Pinot noir 2010

$45.00 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($50.00 retail)
VERY LIMITED CALL TO ORDER
Licorice, horehound, clove, spruce resin and cassis inform the 2010 Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch Vineyard… This dense, finely tannic Pinot brings a striking combination of richness, energy, and depth to its long, mouthwateringly savory finish, and should be worth following for at least a dozen years. (Incidentally, in their second harvest, these vines performed shockingly well – from barrel – in 2011 as well.) – Wine Advocate
