Wine Fight!

Marcus and Andy Wine Fight!Evesham Wood and Haden Fig – We’ve been known to fight over them. We grab their wines the minute they arrive, and we drink them, a lot. We fight over who in the store gets them. And we only open them for friends if we’re in a really generous mood.

Please hurry up and order so I can stop jealously guarding our stash from Marcus and Andy! – Jean

Evesham Wood
Le Puits Sec Pinot noir 2010
$32.40 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*

(36.00 retail)

Evesham Wood Le Puits Sec Pinot noir 2010Like the best 2010s, this smells incredible. Effusive red fruit, red licorice, cinnamon, hints of Douglas fir. The entry is beautiful and silky, with creamy cherry and dark berry gliding from the tip of your tongue back. Le Puits Sec is an elegant wine with penetrating persistence. While it’s irresistible today,  cellaring for 2-6 years (or longer, if you like) will make magic. I will be buying at least a case, and I can think of no higher recommendation. – Marcus
A September Reserve Pinot noir Club Selection

Haden Fig Reserve Chardonnay 2011
$22.45 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($24.95 retail)

60 cases made. This will be one of Oregon’s best Chardonnays from 2011, and you might never have the chance to try it …unless you act now. It hits our stylistic sweet-spot of mouthwatering lemon and lime, with bits of pear and custard filling out the palate. Its voluminous texture finds a perfect match with citrusy acidity. A veil of spicy oak rounds out a complete Oregon Chardonnay. Highly recommended. – Marcus

Haden Fig LabelHaden Fig Pinot Blanc 2011
$17.05 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($18.95 retail)

40 cases made. Bright citrus with hints of apple, melon and wet stones. It has zingy acidity that harmonizes with great richness and weight. This has seafood and Thanksgiving written all over it – a great fall and winter white wine. – Marcus

Haden Fig Pinot Gris 2011
$17.05 in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case*
($18.95 retail)

50 cases made. Red pear and green apple get a fragrantly spicy, minerally lift on the nose. This is one of only a few Pinot gris that we’ll recommend this year – too bad there’s not more!

This is the first vintage of Haden Fig’s Pinot gris.
