The weekend is almost here and surprise surprise, I’m thinking about wine. I’ve tasted a ton of cool wines this week and these are the winners. I highly recommend all three – there’s a little something for everyone.
I hope you have a great weekend and that your glass is filled with something tasty. Cheers!
Cameron Giovanni Pinot blanc 2013
$14.85 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($16.50 regular)
Super delicious. Our friends at Cameron have done it again, crafting the ultimate space/time transport vehicle, beaming you to your favorite deck chair. Refreshing quince and apple with a touch of lime zest. All of 72 cases were made from Abbey Ridge Vineyard. Blink and it’s gone.
Maison Bleue Grenache La Montagnette 2011
$37.75 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($41.95 regular)
The best Washington Grenache I’ve had, and I’ve been turning heads with it all week. The nose is awesome: crushed raspberry and strawberry, underbrush, white pepper and minerals. Vibrant and lush dark raspberry takes over and sings through the grilled herb-accented finish. It should have a long cellar life ahead of it (we’ve been sipping on it for 4 days now) but it’s undeniably great right when opened. A March Big Reds Wine Club feature.
Syncline Scintillation Brut Rose NV
$30.55 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($33.95 regular)
If sparkling wine is only for special occasions, then I declare the next 365 days to be special occasions! Syncline gives us another tasty reason to drink more bubbles with their shockingly good Brut Rose. Creamy bubbles, a delicate strawberry essence, and great balance. You can’t ask for more from a domestic sparkler. 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot noir from Celilo Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge; zero dosage.
